Amazon has officially launched their Android App market.
As a lead-in to the Android mobile market, Amazon has officially launch a marketplace for Android users. The online marketplace is set to offer Amazon users the unique ability to sample apps, for 30-minutes, via an online virtual Android setup. The idea is to let users 'test-drive' apps they may be interested in purchasing.
To make their launch even more exclusive, Amazon is currently giving away Angry Birds Rio until 2am CST tonight.
To use the Amazon marketplace, users will need to download the Amazon App via the Android market on their phone. Once that is completed, users can then sign in to their Amazon account and browse the selection of Android apps available. To download any of the applications, just make sure that the '1-Click Purchase' option has been enabled (if it's not, Amazon will walk you through the process).
It was announced today that Apple has filed a lawsuit against Amazon over the use of 'app store,' so it is possible that the current name may actually change. But for now, users anxious to try apps and Amazon's service are free to do so.
And if you're an Angry Birds fan, you'll certainly want to sign in and get your free copy. Just make sure to do so today.
