Toshiba has recently announced a new line of laptops, the Toshiba Portege.
In an attempt to fill a void in the laptop market, Toshiba has stepped up their game. Remember the days when everyone has Toshiba laptop? It seems they are making a push to make that a reality once again.
Their latest offering isn't a bad place to start fom. Based on some initial impressions, the Toshiba Portege R700 looks to be lean and mean computing machine, just take a look at its impressive specs.
- 13.3 inch screen
- 8 1/2 hours of battery life
- USB Sleep & Charge (charges a USB device even when the laptop is asleep) -- Nice.
- 1 inch thin and 3 1/2 lbs.
- Built in Optical Drive
- Spill resistant keyboard
- Airflow Cooling Technology
- Eco-Friendly Engineering
- HDMI out.
Not a bad list. It seems Toshiba is trying to push hard to offer customers in the Macbook Air or iPad market a fully functioning alternative. With a starting price of around $900, it is significantly cheaper than the Macbook Air.
