October proves to be yet another slow month for video games, as most studios hold back their big titles until the rush that is the holiday season.

 

This week, fans of the original DJ Hero are in for a treat, as DJ Hero 2 hits the Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360.  The game is being sold as a stone alone disc or combined with the mix station.  Fans of the first will certainly want to pick up this new sequel.  There is also a packaged bundle which comes with the original DJ Hero for those looking to fully complete their DJ Hero collection.

 

The other big release this week is the sequel to the popular Fallout franchise in the form of Fallout: New Vegas.  This Fallout isn't a direct sequel to Fallout 3, and features absolutely no returning characters from the last game.  This entirely new game and story serve as an expansion, of sorts, to the Fallout universe and take place three years from where the last game left off.  Fans of the franchise won't want to miss this.

 

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 was delayed from its original release date a few weeks back and also hits retail shelves tomorrow.  Fans of the exciting series will finally see an end to their wait.

 

Rounding out this slow week is Battle VS Chess, which makes its appearance on Xbox 360 and PS3 this week, after seeing a successful launch for the PSP, Nintendo DS, and Wii back in March.  The game is a beautiful version of battle chess, with all the exciting action elements that come with having your chess board pieces fight with one another.  Fans of the Nintendo versions will be able to get the 360 and PS3 versions as early as tomorrow.
