Get Him to the Greek Blu

Universal issued a press release today for the upcoming Blu-Ray release of Get Him to the Greek.  While announcements for Blu-Ray release dates are generally bland, Universal has spiced up this particular announcement by adding additional feature films to the Blu-Ray's digital distribution.

Included in the Blu-Ray copy of Get Him to the Greek will be the offer to choose from one of three different movies to digitally stream via your Blu-Ray player.  Universal is dubbing the feature "The Ultimate Choice", and it will allow purchasers to instantly stream Uncle Buck, Dazed and Confused, or Life via Pocket-Blu or BD-Live.  The offer is good to anyone who purchases the movie on September 28th, 2010 until March 31, 2011.  Whether or not this marketing gimmick turns into a trend will be based solely on how many consumers take advantage of the offer.

The rest of the disc is loaded with special features, but none as special as being able to instantly stream via Blu-Ray three movies choices which are currently not available in high-def.  No specifics were given in the press release regarding how long the purchaser will be able to view the movie, or what type of format the movie will be in.  It would be safe to assume that the stream will be in high-def, but that may not be the case.
