MK KO'd?

There will be no Mortal Kombat Legacy this week.

And possibly no new episodes until the end of July.

The move is an odd one, and we're not quite sure what to make of it.  The websires, which was originally supposed to have thirteen episodes, had been rumored to be cut down to only ten.  Then we heard it would be down to nine.  By our count, that meant the finale would be live today and we'd finally see a conclusion to director Kevin Tancharoen's vision.

Last week, Tancharoen, via Twitter, told fans that the series would air no new episode this week.

He followed up that bad news with the good news, 'The new episode will premiere at Comic Con instead.'

Well, by our count, Comic Con is not until July 25th.  That's nearly six weeks away.  Tancharoen hasn't had anything else to say on the matter, leaving fans quite confused as to what exactly happened.

Mortal Kombat Legacy hasn't been what fans were expecting, to say the least.  The original trailer that Tancharoen cut together was bloody genius, tying in the world of Mortal Kombat to a realistic realm, one where these brutal fighters are humans with a deeper, darker side.  When the web series was announced, fans assumed it would be based off of the original trailer that Tancharoen made.

Instead, we've been treated to a few episodes of realism, followed with a high count of silly, animated, mythical tales that look nothing like the original Rebirth trailer.

With the plans to delay the possible final episode until July, fans are quite upset.  This whole series seems to have been a mistake, one that cultivates with a horrible decision to delay the end for six weeks.  Will fans of the series, who attend Comic Con, actually care to see the episode when it finally airs?

Or will all of this be forgotten by the time we reach there.

Or, and this is our own suspicion, did Tancharoen meaan E3 rather than Comic Con?
