Character Selection Appears

That Mortal Kombat webseries has just announced an official character lineup.

As we announced last week, the Mortal Kombat video game has been greenlit for a webseries based on the popular Mortal Kombat: Rebirth trailer that showed up online last year.  Little word was announced at the time, but now we're getting a look at the bigger picture.

The webseries will be 10 episodes total, though it is unclear at the running time of each.  Michael Jai White will repraise his role as Jax and Ian Anthony Dale will repraise his part as Scorpion.  This is great news for those that enjoyed the original teaser trailer, as these parts helped sole the movie itself.

According to the folks over at Bloody Disgusting, Shang Tsung, Liu Kang, Durak, Sub Zero, Kabal, Kitana, and Scorpion will all appear throughout the 10 episodes.  The episodes are set to film in Canada next month, but it remains unclear just when the episodes will hit the net.  Needless so say, there are hundreds of fans waiting anxiously.

We assume the series will pick up where the film left off, but nothing outside of characters and filming have been confirmed at this point.  As long as filming does start up next month, information will certainly start leaking out soon.

The original video is below.
