This is what is known as the calm before the storm.
Next week sees a slew of new video games hitting retail shelves, while this week is a much calmer and tamer release week. That's okay, as there's still some healthy choices out there for those waiting for the big, blockbuster hits to come.
If you're a fan of the King of Pop, this is absolutely your week. Michael Jackson: The Experience releases today for the Xbox 360 and the PS3. The most interesting version of the bunch seems to be the Xbox 360 release, which features an impressive Kinect experience for those with the add-on device.
The movie tie-in Rio game also hits retail shelves today, for those eager to dive into the movie or with kids who love cute video game movie adaptations. The release is sure to be a hit for the Wii and features a nice multiplayer experience that is kid-friendly.
If you've got your hands on the hot Nintendo 3DS, then today is also a big day for you as the small selection of launch titles gets expanded on with Splinter Cell CD. The game doesn't look to reinvent the franchise, but will certainly be entertaining for those who have enjoyed the other entries into the Spinter Cell universe.
