Sadly, the PSN will not be up and operational by Sunday, May 8th.
Sony had followed up their plans this week with a statement earlier that the PSN should be up and running no later than Sunday. However, the company has just announced this morning that they will not be making that deadline.
Not only that, but the company has also stated that they are not sure when the service will return.
This is quite the change from earlier in the week, when Sony was clearly announcing plans for the service to be back sometime this week. The PSN servers have been attacked twice now by hackers, with the first attack appearing to be the work of Anonymous after Sony announced finding a file named 'Anonymous' on their servers. Anonymous has denied any responsibility in the hack.
Sony had been warned that a third attack was possible this week.
We'll update you more on the matter as news comes in.
