Well, it's finally official.
It was announced back in Feburary that the Star Wars films would finally be heading home to Blu-Ray. A release month was given, September, but as for an exact date nothing had been officially stated. Until now.
Star Wars fans rejoice, the long awaited Blu-Ray release of the coveted films will be September 16th, 2011.
This will mark the first time that the films will be available in 1080p, and the box sets are loaded with all kinds of special features. The only major downside to the release is the lack of original, theatrical treaments for the classic trilogy. The only films apart of the release are the Special Edition versions, known for their hatred across the universe.
