We've covered HDR picture and video capture before, but as the technology improves we continue to become more and more impressed.
The Chapel is a video made using HDR technology and truly shows just how impressive visuals created in this style can be. While still picture HDR images look amazing, this is the first video we've seen that uses the HDR to such an excellent extent. The images are beyond creepy, more than breathtaking, and stunning all at the same time.
The Chapel was created by videographer Patryk Kizny. The video is of a Protestant chapel in Zeliszow, Poland which was built in 1797. Patryk used -2/0/+2 for exposure bracketing and the settings worked perfect. If every single HDR video created looked as gorgeous as this, we want everything filmed in HDR from now on.
Hollywood, quick to snatch up the latest trends and regurgitate it out onto audiences, has been seemingly reluctant to pick up this technology and use it in wide film releases. The visuals seem perfect for use in feature films and is much more visually stimulating than that of the gimmicky 3D technology.
Check out the video below to see HDR at its finest.
