A Look at the Bloggie Touch, Samsung's HMX-T10, and More

Sony goes Bloggie this week, Samsung drops a full HD camcorder, the Sony S-Frame digital photo frame gets serious, and Kodak gets social.

This week, Apple certainly dominated the mainstream media with its live event yesterday.  News of the latest iPod touch and iPod Nano certainly took the lead, as did the latest Apple TV.  It was a busy week for all things Apple, and a bit slower on the camera front.   But that certainly didn't stop Sony, Kodak, or Samsung from making some nice waves this week.

Samsung, who has been busy with press coverage for all versions of their Galaxy S, fueled some fires early in the week with their foray into tablets with the Samsung Galaxy S tablet.  They did manage to take some time away from the iPad killing machine to drop news of their latest, the HMX-T10 camcorder.  Samsung has been hitting it out of the park lately, and the T10 looks as solid as everything else the company has been up to as of late.

Sony Bloggie Touch

This pocket camcorder is the ideal way to capture fun, simple HD video.  The Bloggie Touch records in full 1080p HD to an mp4 format, and takes images with a 12.8 mega-pixel still.  The camcorder has a three inch touchscreen,  and can store up to 4hrs worth of footage on the internal 8gb memory storage.  The Bloggie Touch also has a flip-out USB plug which allows easy sharing, storing, and charging.  If you love recording movies, the Bloggie Touch seems ideal for capturing HD footage while being small enough to store comfortably in pockets.  The Bloggie Touch launches this month and will run $199.

 Samsung HMX-T10

Samsung has announced and priced its latest pocket camcorder, the HMX-T10.  The camcorder shoots in full HD, comes with a 2.7 inch LED touchscreen, and should sound pretty similar to the Bloggie Touch.  The HMX-T10 is designed with comfort in mind, taking advantage of a new 20 degree slanted lens which provides ease of use regardless of how the camera is being held.  It was designed specifically to allow the user to hold the camcorder however needed.  There is no internal storage found, but the T10 does have SD and SDHC slots.  The T10 releases this month and will set you back $299 for purchase.

Sony S-Frame

The Sony S-Frame is more than a simple digital picture frame, coming equipped with the capabilities to play back AVCHD video.  Three versions of the picture frame were announced this week, with only the DPF-XR100 model having the video playback (it's also the most expensive of the two, running $250).  The three different modeled S-Frames are set to launch this November, right in time for the holidays.  Each model has a slight difference over the other, but the DPF-XR100 certainly stands out as the model to get, specifically for the video play back option.  Each of the frames will feature a 2GB internal memory for storage, which would be enough for a low quality, two hour home video.

Kodak M590

Kodak announced earlier this week their plans for launching a small, accessible digital camera geared directly at sharing pictures and small video on social networking sites.  The camera is a 14 mega-pixel camera with a 5x optical zoom, and a 2.7 inch LED screen.Users will be able to share their digital image via Facebook, Flickr, Orkut, and Youtube (recordings with video capture).  Sharing is as easy as snapping the picture, then clicking the 'share' button on the back of the camera.  The M590 is available now, and will set you back $199.
